To sum all the analysis up, the national security risk makes people fragile
to have a tendency to believe (not just to think with a rational process) the government publications, as Bauman suggests though.
The mainstream media is producing simulacra, when voters go for Fox Tv and
see the HDP's propaganda on this channel while the others are excluding HDP for
being a pro-PKK party and the clear statements of being in an alliance with
PKK, the reaction of voters who define themselves as Turkish citizens to have
an eye on mainstream channels' news and columns.
The risk of national security feeling is put by the media by having at
least one person in each program in a day in order not to make people forget
the situation of insecurity. This strategy makes people keep believing that
there are many risks and the policies of security are inevitable.
The conspiracy theorists are very much favorable in Turkey. Some of them
are politicians and TV series writers. Those writers are creating connections
of foreign powers and terrorist organizations aim with Millet Alliance.
The statements of state officials about foreign powers gained power and
legitimacy on people's minds after the 15 July 2016 coup attempt prepared by
Gülenists.
The other step of this came with the offer of Erdogan to watch Payitaht Abduhamid
in TRT and read Kadir Misiroglu whose books are criticized for having false
information on the History of Turkey[1]. In the series of
Payitaht, people have an image of the similarity of the course of Erdogan with
Ottoman Emperor Abdulahmid The Second who adjourned the assembly and had an
authoritarian regime. The series is calling for a new leader for Muslims after
a hundred years late from Abdulhamid Han, referring President Erdogan as a
figure. However, the presentation of the series is that the claim of telling
the true knowledge of history to people by the most authorized person in the
country.
The same image was tried to be created for Binali Yıldırım in Istanbul
Municipal Elections. Binali Yıldırım was holding the symbol of being
the closest companion of Recep Tayyip Erdogan “the protector of innocents"[2].
Images of Erdogan the protector of innocents and nation, Cumhur Alliance the
patriots versus Millet Alliance the terrorist supporters are produced at the
same time and constantly by eight channels and other nespapers:
