How Is It Becoming A Simulacra?


During the rallies for Istanbul Municipality elections held on 31 March 2019, it is possible for media in five stages:

First, finding a gap, and creating an image to fill the gap in a high-tension environment:
15 July Coup Attempt created a panic and security threat in the country. Everyone began to worry about domestic actors. Gulen's accommodation in Pennsylvania made one of the supporters of the night that 248 people lost their lives. After that night, the state of emergency called. After three years, it is still tried to be remembered by the government. While opposition parties are trying to protect personal liberty rights, it began to be demonstrated as if opposition parties were against operations against Gulenists, but they were actually presenting instructions to fight against Gulenists in politics and state but were rejected by Cumhur Alliance. So on, the image of oppositions' couldn't escape from being an obstacle for the government and people who have seen this coup attempt.  The other gap point is the HDP-PKK alliance and Millet Alliance's demand for the Kurdish vote made a gap to call them terrorists. This gap made possible to write down a connection between Kandil and Millet Alliance. While they are happening, government officials were putting U.S trade war and support for terrorist groups to their speeches who are identified by the State. The same statements were taken by newspaper media and presented to the public.
Second, compiling evidence like videos, recordings, and text-cuts showed in the government's most trustworthy television programs. The same images were conducted with their opponents. So, both the images of "domestic and national" and "foreigner" was drawn in this way.
Third, repeating the gap by officials which has a reflection on the people, and call themselves as real patriots.
Forth, producing that image as the agenda, replacing the image with other possibilities. To make people think of it, speak of it, to determine what to think about. While people were acting in the way of believing and seeing rather than reading, this way was close to being a simulacrum.
Fifth, reproducing it with the majority of channels and speeches of authorities, debate programs: Images of Erdogan the protector of innocents and nation, Cumhur Alliance the patriots versus Millet Alliance the terrorist supporters are produced at the same time and constantly by eight channels and other newspapers:

And the sources of them are Anadolu Agency which is concluded the night of 31 March elections with a scandal of covering the results of Istanbul from the media.
